Shaanxi Tianhong Silicon Material Co., Ltd is jointly invested and organized by the Group Company, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd., Xi¡¯an Lujing Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Provincial Investment Group Co., Ltd, and is dominated and managed by the Group Company.
RMB 3.7 billion Yuan was planed to be invested in this project, which produces 3750 tons of polysilicon a year, with a factory area of 330 thousand square meters. A production line yearly producing 1250 tons of microelectron grade polysilicon is constructed in the first stage, with a construction period of 24 months. After the project is put into production, it will bridge the gap of microelectron grade polysilicon scale production in China, and fully satisfy the need of producing wafer over 8 inches, and has an epoch-making significance for developing electronic materials industry in China.
It is not only the urgent need of the market, but also the urgent need for developing national industry to quickly start polysilicon project. In December 2005, the People¡¯s Government of Shaanxi Province proposed to construct polysilicon project in Shaanxi by using the advantage of rich coal and electric resource in Shaanxi and the technical basis for producing polysilicon material of Shaanxi Huashan Semi-Conductor Material Plant, which is a subsidiary company of the Group. Clearly confirmed by formal document issued by provincial development renovation committee, it is proposed to be led by the Group Company for developing the preparatory work of polysilicon project in Shaanxi. In December 2006, Shaanxi Provincial Government issued another important written instruction, requiring the Group Company to take the responsibility for further rapid advance of polysilicon project in Shaanxi.
In order to make the dream of several generations of state leaders of developing silicon industry, and under the concern, support and help of the leading leaders of Provincial Government, the Group Company bravely shoulders the glorious historic mission for constructing polysilicon project in Shaanxi.
This project plans to invest RMB 3.7 billion Yuan in total, yearly producing 3750 tons of polysilicon and covering a land of more than 500mu, in which, the first stage is for constructing a microelectron grade polysilicon production line with a production of 1250 tons a year, construction period being 24 months. Advanced techniques and main equipment of this project are all imported from abroad, with high content of sci-tech content, products with high starting point and has high quality standard, also with characteristics of low comprehensive consumption, complete industrial chain, adopting closed circuit circulation, clean production, etc. Construction content includes whole set production techniques of hydrogen chloride synthesis, polysilicon reduction, tail gas recovery, silicon tetrachloride transformation, etc. Energy consumption, technique and quality of products of the project are in leading level in both home and abroad. After the project is put into production, it will bridge the gap for scale production of microelectron level polysilicon in China. It will also drive the absorb the development of associated downstream industries of monocrystalline silicon industry, wafer industry, integrate circuit industry, and silicon wafer for photovoltaic use, cell slice, etc, and form a large industrial cluster.
The start of this project indicates electronic industry and photovoltaic industry in Shaanxi Province has entered into a new stage of coordinated stage for quick development.
